Unlocking Sacred Landscapes

This virtual cultural tour of monuments and sacred landscapes in the Xeros River valley in the Larnaca district was developed in the framework of the Unlocking the Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (UnSaLa-CY) research project, in collaboration with the archaeological field programme Settled and Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (SeSaLaC) of the University of Cyprus, and the Department of Antiquities of the Republic of Cyprus. The project EXCELLENCE/1216/0362 (UnSaLa-CY) is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation.

Η παρούσα ιστοσελίδα και εφαρμογή ξενάγησης σε ιερά μνημεία και τοπία της κοιλάδας του ποταμού Ξερού στην Επαρχία Λάρνακας δημιουργήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του ερευνητικού προγράμματος Unlocking the Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (UnSaLa-CY), σε συνεργασία με το αρχαιολογικό πρόγραμμα πεδίου του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου Settled and Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (SeSaLaC) και το Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας. Το Έργο EXCELLENCE/1216/0362 (UnSaLa-CY) συγχρηματοδοτείται από το Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Περιφερειακής Ανάπτυξης και την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία μέσω του Ιδρύματος Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας.

Larnaka bölgesindeki Kseros Nehri vadisindeki anıtların ve kutsal manzaraların bu kültürel gezi sitesi, Kıbrıs Üniversitesi'nin Settled and Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (SeSaLaC) arkeolojik alan programı ve Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti’nin Eski Eserler Dairesi ile işbirliği içinde, Unlocking the Sacred Landscapes of Cyprus (UnSaLa-CY) araştırma projesi çerçevesinde geliştirilmiştir. EXCELLENCE / 1216/0362 (UnSaLa-CY) projesi, Araştırma ve Yenilik Vakfı’nın aracılığıyla Avrupa Bölgesel Kalkınma Fonu ve Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti tarafından ortaklaşa finanse edilmektedir.

The purpose of the cultural tour is to narrate the historicity of the landscape and the fate of religious and other monuments of the past 1500 years. Through this guided tour, visitors and current inhabitants of the Xeros valley have the opportunity to get in touch with the historical memory of the region and gain, in an indirect and novel way, an experiential contact with the monuments (religious and secular) and their surroundings.

Σκοπός της εικονικής περιήγησης και της ηλεκτρονικής εφαρμογής είναι η αφήγηση της ιστορικότητας του τοπίου και της τύχης θρησκευτικών και άλλων μνημείων των τελευταίων 1500 χρόνων. Μέσω της περιήγησης αυτής, οι επισκέπτες και οι σημερινοί κάτοικοι της κοιλάδας του Ξερού έχουν τη δυνατότητα να έρθουν σε επαφή με την ιστορική μνήμη του τόπου και να αποκτήσουν, με τρόπο έμμεσο και πρωτότυπο, μία βιωματική εμπειρία με τα μνημεία (θρησκευτικά και κοσμικά) και τον περίγυρό τους.

Bu web sitesinin amacı, manzaranın tarihselliğini ve son 1500 yılın dini ve diğer anıtlarının akıbetini anlatmaktır. Bu tur boyunca, Kseros vadisinin ziyaretçileri ve şu anki sakinleri, bölgenin tarihi hafızasıyla temasa geçme ve dolaylı ve özgün bir yolla, anıtlar (dini ve seküler) ve çevreleriyle deneyimsel bir deneyim kazanma fırsatına sahip olurlar.
